2026 LCHS Competition Schedule on USBands

About the Competition Circuit

USBands was formed in the Fall of 1988 to provide high school band programs with a competitive circuit featuring top judges from across the continent.

2026 USBands Group Size Changes
For the 2026 season, USBands has updated its group size structure to create more balanced and competitive experiences for bands with similar numbers of student performers. Group sizes have been adjusted across Groups I–V, with separate classifications established for Regional A/A Class and Open Class for the first time in USBands history. These changes are designed to create more equitable competition and better align bands with similarly sized ensembles.

Classification

USBands allows their bands to classify themselves into three groups in:

1. Performance Class - Ensembles who prefer a non-competitive experience at any USBands sanctioned event.

2. A Class - Ensembles who demonstrate a basic to intermediate skill set (may be building/rebuilding their program) and are adjudicated on a scale representing fundamental to intermediate skills.

3. Open Class - Seasoned ensembles that demonstrate expanded skill sets and are adjudicated on a scale supporting intermediate to advanced skills -- LCHS competes in Open Class.

A little history...

In 2018, 2019 and 2021, the LCHS Marching Captains competed at the National Championships in A Class and took home first place / Gold in their group each year! There was no competitive season in 2020. 

In 2022, the LCHS Marching Captains competed in the III Open Class, a much more challenging class, and took home second place / Silver! 

In 2023, the LCHS Marching Captains competed in III Open Class, and earned first place/Gold 🏆!

In 2024, the LCHS Marching Captains competed in III Open Class, and placed second/Silver! 

In 2025, the LCHS Marching Captains competed in II Open Class, and placed second/Silver!
